Junior Readers
Our junior members have an area of the library all to themselves so that they can spend time reading, relaxing, playing, listening to stories or using computers in a safe space of their own. You can register your child for a library card at any age. They are never too young to have a library card.
The Libraries in Kirkwall and Stromness both have their own areas for junior readers with a wide selection of story books, fact books, audiobooks, comics, large print, puzzle books. There are books for everyone.
Below are some panoramic photographs of the children’s library so you can show them what it looks like ahead of their visit.
Here are a few of the different things you will find in the children’s library.
