Sewing Circle is our library hand sewing group which meets in Kirkwall on every second Monday evening over the winter months from October to March. The group meets in the library between 4pm and 6pm and is particularly focussed on hand sewing, cross stitch, embroidery, and other similar crafts, rather than using sewing machines.

The sessions are very informal and everyone is welcome to come along and work on their own sewing or embroidery projects, mingle with other makers, swap ideas, and share tips and techniques over a cup of tea or coffee. There is no need to book so just come along on any of the dates below.
Anyone who would like to learn how to sew, cross-stitch or embroider is also very welcome to come along for help and advice.
If you would like to come to the group but can’t make it to the library it’s also possible to join in from home via Teams. Get in touch for more information.
